Safety
Especially if you’re traveling solo, A portable door lock will give you peace of mind! I like this one by Reoka because it comes with two different size locks, suitable for any door. This protects you from any outside intruder even if they have a key. It’s thin and lightweight but extremely durable, if you buy one it can last forever. I’ve used this same one for years!
Price: $7
Traveling can be magical, but it can also be dangerous. it is not only crucial to be aware of your surroundings, but also how to get out of them. A self-defense siren is easy to use and LOUD, so if you ever need a little help, all attention from pedestrians will go to you. Just put this on your keychain, pocket, or even a lanyard under your clothes. Have this every time you leave your hotel and travel with confidence!
Price: $20
Never be too trusting when it comes to traveling. In Europe and South America, pickpocketing is the most common crime. Before you take off, I recommend locking up your things. These 4-digit combination locks are easy to use and will give you some peace of mind. Especially if you are carrying around cash or any valuable items that make you a target. Remember, when traveling you are the foreigner, which makes you easy to pick out of a crowd. Don’t let this scare you, but become more aware of the potential risks.

Packing Essentials
Please don’t leave without this….. you’ll be so mad. Getting a travel adapter is often overlooked, but if you take off without one, you’re screwed. These can be hard to find internationally because there is no universal outlet. Instead of buying a new outlet adapter for every country, get this international outlet adapter so you never have to worry. It works in over 150 countries and allows you to charge 5 items at once. This comes with a standard U.S. outlet and 4 USB ports. You can charge your phone, watch, portable charger, camera, and laptop all in one go. Again, I’ve had this for years and I’ve had no issues!

Packing cubes are a must! It’s like having movable drawers in your luggage. Instead of having your clothes loose in your bag, you can easily pack your suitcase like a game of Tetris. It comes with 4 different size cubes so you can separate your tops, bottoms, socks, etc. The best part is that you don’t have to unpack your clothes while traveling. Just throw the cubes in a drawer and you’re good to go. This will make your life 100% easier and packing a breeze.
Includes:
- 4 varying sizes of packing cubes
- 2 drawstring bags (perfect for shoes and laundry)
- electronic organizer
- toiletry bag
Price: $20
I cannot rave about this bag enough. It’s a suitcase and backpack in one! When it is fully expanded, it’s the same size as a standard 22-inch carry-on. When it’s not expanded, it’s the perfect day pack. There are many reasons I would choose this over a rolling suitcase and the huge hiking backpacks. It’s easier to carry around than a suitcase, especially if you are traveling to Europe or somewhere with cobblestone streets. But, it is has all the features of a suitcase that traditional backpacks don’t. The middle compartment opens up like a suitcase so you won’t have to destroy all your organization if you need to grab a clothing item on the go.
Pack cheaper
Let’s say you are traveling for longer which might require more room for packing. If you are jumping from place to place, not only will this make traveling easier but it can also make it cheaper. Most flights come with a free carry-on and any additional luggage will come with a fee. Instead of packing everything into a large suitcase and paying a lot of money, try using this carry-on backpack and a large personal item.
I recommend this even if you have a checked bag. This way, your checked bag can be a lot smaller and easier to bring on buses, trains, and cabs! Some airlines will also allow for two carry-ons for an additional charge, which can be much cheaper than a checked bag, just check with your airline before hand.
Features:
- Expandable clothing compartment
- outside charging port
- Scratchproof durable material
- waterproof pocket
- laptop compartment
- Pockets, pockets, and more pockets!
- Chest strap (extra secureness)
- padded shoulder straps
- side handle for easy carrying
- 2-year warranty for $12
Price: $70
This thing is a beast. You charge it one time, it lasts for days. I can get my phone from 0-100% 7 times before the charger itself needs to be charged. Even better, if you’re outside just flip it right side up and let the solar panels do their magic. You can charge 2 items at once per USB. I’m not going to lie, it’s a little pricey but when I say I have passed this through my family for YEARS, I’m not kidding. It’s 100% worth it and you’ll never have to buy another one again.

Carry-On Luggage
There are many different options when it comes to luggage, but Coolife’s products are affordable and durable. I don’t believe in spending a lot of money when it comes to luggage, but you also don’t wheels popping off of zippers breaking. Coolife’s shells are tough and thick while the wheels are incredibly smooth. They have a great Amazon store with many different options, but these two have a few key features you always should look for when it comes to luggage.
Features:
- TSA locks (this allows only you and TSA to open your luggage)
- tall handle (some carry-ons come with a short handle, this is so annoying!)
- side handle (for easy carrying)
- Side bumper feet (prevents scratches, allows for sturdy placement)
- smooth wheels
- expandable

Something like this is perfect. I’ve used mine for 2 trips now and still going strong:) Just wash out the containers when you get home and they are good to go. I like simplicity but also functionality, and this product has both. It is TSA-approved and perfect for all your hair, body, and face products. It includes:
- 4 silicone bottles for shampoo, body wash, etc. Whether you buy this set or not, make sure the bottles you buy are silicone. Plastic bottles break too easily when you have to squeeze out the product.
- 4 leak-proof storage jars perfect for face creams and moisturizers – these come with an extra seal layer!
- 2 spray bottles for these, I used one for a leave-in-conditioner- and the other for a mouthwash.
- 2 plastic pump bottles these can lock in place so they won’t spill!
- 4 Silicone covers are great for keeping your razors and toothbrush clean!
- labels so you know which product is which.
Waterproof iPhone 13 Pro Max Case
I can’t recommend any Samsung cases, but I used this case on my last trip and it was great! I always recommend getting a waterproof case when traveling. It allows for great underwater pictures without the use of those foggy plastic bags, and an extra layer of protection. This one is thin and has a nonslip grip which I found quite useful when I would place my phone on surfaces to take timed photos. Your phone goes everywhere you do, embracing the sand, dirt, and water. After unleashing it into the elements, I was pleased to say my phone remained cleaned and unharmed 🙂
Price: $20
Some people might be confused about this one but if you’re using your phone to take underwater photos, I recommend having a phone leash. This way your phone won’t sink to the bottom of the ocean. I watched my friend’s phone fall into Khao Sok National Park, it was devastating. I then proceeded to watch him spend $1,000 on a new phone. The horror. Don’t be like him! I like this one because it goes on the outside of your phone. I’ve seen ones that go on the inside of your phone case however, if you’re using a waterproof case, the slot where the phone leash goes out of will be blocked by the water proof cover.

If you haven’t jumped on this trend, where have you been? Fanny packs are back and they are the best thing ever invented. This limits the chances of someone stealing your things. There is no worry of leaving it behind and it’s a lot harder to take away from you. It also allows you to have your hands free, that’s a must when traveling. I even use mine at the airport to hold my phone, passport, credit cards, flight tickets etc. All your important items in one safe place. Now you won’t have to rummage through your bags with a million items in your hand. And this one has so many pockets! Perfect for organization.
Price: $18
Comfort is so important and also something airplanes, trains, and buses don’t have. I’m sure you have a travel pillow but do you have this one? I don’t know about you but traditional travel pillows are so hard to get just right. You constantly have to adjust them and they don’t support your head. This one is bendable so even if you’re leaning on a window your neck and head are cushioned. There are so many ways to adjust this so whatever position you’re in you’ll be sure to be supported.
Price: $25
This is a little pricey, but so are luggage fees. It’s a great option if you’re trying to save space, it fits A LOT. The picture above shows TEN different clothing items and it’s accurate. It’s also waterproof so you don’t have to worry about anything getting ruined. The only con is how comfortable it is depends on what you put inside. And if you’re one for souvenirs, you can pack it beforehand to free up space in your suitcase for the flight home!
Price: $45
Micro-fiber towels are nothing short of amazing. They are extremely absorbent, dry super fast, and kick off sand instantly. Even if you’re not going on a tropical holiday, I always recommend bringing a towel. You never know when you’ll need one and this towel is so soft, it doubles as a blanket. It takes up so little space, it’s a no-brainer.
Price: $16
Repeat after me, Bring. a. speaker. Whether you’re climbing a mountain or chilling in the sand, music is always a must. I recommend the JBL 4 Portable speaker, it’s portable but powerful. The clip makes it easy to attach to almost anything. It’s waterproof and sand resistant, so it’s ready for anything!
Price: $60
If you have a ton of cords, a cable organizer will prevent any tangles! It’s a great way to keep all of your electronics separated and have easy access. It has two main compartments so if you don’t have enough to fill the entire thing, you can easily use the other side for something else.
Price: $10
Take N Slide Medication Tracker
This is so simple, but genius. Pill dividers are great, but they only come with 7 days. If you are going on a longer trip, a pill divider is useless. Combine your medication to save space, or keep them separated. These are reusable, but I recommend dedicating one bottle to travel to save stickiness.
Price: $20
If there is one thing you want to keep clean, it’s your toothbrush. Steripods are the best way to prevent your toothbrush from being exposed to the dirtiness of travel. The inside has a minty vapor that keeps the bristles fresh. It’s made with food-safe plastic and lasts 3 months.
Price: $6
Wireless Earbud Anit-Lost Strap
If you have wireless earbuds, you know how easily you can lose them. These easily keep your headphones around your neck so even if you take them out, they aren’t going anywhere. I use my headphones all the time, especially when I’m trying to sleep on an airplane or train. But the more you move around, the more likely it is that one falls out. The ends are magnetic so no worries about tangles. Seriously, don’t lose your headphones, it’s kind of devastating.

~For the gals~
Okay girlies, if you haven’t tried a period cup before now is the time. This product has seriously changed my life. I haven’t bought a tampon in years. You can leave it in for 12 hours and don’t have to worry about any leaks. It’s made of 100% medical-grade silicone and can lessen your chance of toxic shock syndrome. Tampons have been proven to release so many chemicals into your body, this is just silicone. Periods are just awful, especially when traveling. But having this will make your period seem almost non-existent.
Price: $35
Okay, traveling is just dirty. Even if you shower right before a flight, I guarantee you’ll feel gross after. Cottonelle Fresh Care Wipes are the perfect solution to a whore bath moment. You can use them on your body and intimate areas to freshen everything up. They have a nice scent that leaves your body just feeling clean. They come with 14 to a sleeve and are the perfect size to fit anywhere.
Price: $28
I’m obsessed with this toiletry Bag! True, it’s a little large but if you utilize the space, it’s totally worth it. It fits full-size products including shampoo, conditioner, lotions, etc. with no problem. I was able to pack all of my makeup, hygiene, styling, and medications/first aid. It’s so easy because you don’t even need to unpack, everything is in eye view and upright so nothing spills! If you’re staying in a hostel or somewhere with shared bathrooms, this works as a hanging shower caddie making your life 100% easier.

Cetaphil Sheer Mineral Sunscreen Stick
I know you’ve heard it before, but I’m going to say it again, put on sunscreen! If you only pick one item to put on your face every day, it should be sunscreen. Your face is so sensitive, SPF protects your skin from sun damage and helps prevent wrinkles and aging spots. I recommend the Cetaphil mineral stick when traveling because you don’t need to wash your hands before applying and it’s so incredibly creamy. It melts into your skin and leaving your face hydrated and dewey but not greasy. There is no pilling or white cast, it’s a holy grail.
Price: $8
I had no idea these existed until this lovely girly gave me one when I was in Scotland. We were hiking the Highlands and I was in so much pain. I put two of these on, one on each side of my lower abdomen and 10 minutes later my cramps were gone. It creates an intense cooling effect on your skin and just melts away the pain. Period cramps are no joke and they can really put a damper in your plans. After trying these, I don’t leave without them! I highly recommend giving them a try!

That’s all for my Amazon Packing essentials! Hope you enjoyed it! XX
